BACKCOUNTRY OPENING

NEW HIGHLIGHT: This winter we will open the freeride and splitboard season together at our new elooa BACKCOUNTRY OPENING presented by K2 on the Kaunertal Glacier. Everything here really revolves around backcountry!

Because regardless of whether you simply access the backcountry comfortably with the lift or with your own muscle power on a splitboard, we share our passion and rely on the same safety parameters for the subsequent descent in the powder. There are four different workshops on the program for you, because it's all about turns or touring, safety or alpinism.

That's why we now offer you several opportunities to brush up your skills for the start of the season and improve them with the help of our state-certified coaches and guides. At the TURNS workshop, we focus on freeriding technique and at the TOURING workshop on getting started with splitboarding. In the SAFETY workshop, we teach and deepen all the important elements relating to avalanches. And in the new ALPINISM workshop, all those who want to go even higher can learn everything they need to know about ice axes, crampons and ropes.

You also have the opportunity to test all the necessary equipment free of charge under expert guidance. Be it BCA Backcountry Access avalanche safety equipment or complete EDELRID glacier equipment, the latest K2 freeride boards from the Landscape Collection or the hottest K2 splitboard sets. You can select all of this in the following step.

Thanks to the snow-sure location on the Kaunertal Glacier, ideal conditions await all workshops and, depending on the snow conditions, we can ski on perfectly groomed slopes or make our first powder turns of the season next to the slopes in fresh deep snow. On Friday evening at 5.00 pm we meet at our exclusive base camp with sauna and steam bath in the valley. After checking in and handing out test equipment, a 3-course meal awaits us, followed by a welcome evening together. On Saturday and Sunday morning, we'll head straight to the Kaunertal Glacier and, depending on the workshop you choose, we'll improve your skills and impart valuable knowledge in a theoretical lecture in the evening.

On this special weekend, whether you are a beginner or an advanced skier, you will have the opportunity to start the winter with professional support, get to know us and get off to a flying start. We look forward to starting the season together and recommend this camp to all our ADVENTURE participants!
