Last weekend was not only a successful start for all newcomers to splitboarding, but also the timing and choice of Kleinwalsertal for our elooa SPLITBOARD BASICS CAMP presented by K2. A few days before the camp there was snowfall again and therefore very good conditions with powder and sunshine. All splitboard newcomers were able to learn a lot of new things and gain their first touring experience!

The camp in Kleinwalsertal was addressed to all interested shredders who have always wanted to try a splitboard on simple routes and under expert guidance. Equipped with brand new K2 Splitboards and avalanche safety equipment from BCA, the participants were familiarized by experienced Splitboard professionals with all the basic techniques and accompanied by certified mountain guides on their first tours.

It started on Friday evening with a splitboard workshop, where all splitboard components were explained in detail and the K2 test material was assembled together. Great conditions with fresh powder and bright sunshine awaited us on Saturday morning. Ideal prerequisites for a first unforgettable splitboard tour with untracked powder runs. During the ascent there were valuable tips and exercises for all splitboard newbies on topics such as ascent techniques and equipment. Overjoyed, the campers reached their first summit with the splitboards and what followed was a great descent through varied terrain and untracked snow fields. Back in our cozy mountain hut, a well-deserved dinner awaited us, followed by a theoretical keynote on the subject of avalanche awareness.

Sunday morning again brought bright sunshine and another tour followed, which was rounded off with an extensive practical avalanche transceiver search training. In addition, a €100 shopping voucher from Blue Tomato was awarded for the fastest splitboard conversion. Back in the valley, smiling faces reviewed the tour- packed and instructive weekend before it was unanimously said: "Thank you elooa for the great camp and see you next time!"

A very instructive splitboard weekend came to an end and we are already looking forward to the next elooa SPLITBOARD CAMPS - hopefully also with you!
